The 61st APPA Forum hosted by the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia

The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC) hosted the 61st Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum virtually on June 19 and 20, 2024. The forum was attended by 20 APPA members across the Asia-Pacific Region.Over the intensive, two-day forum, members discussed a wide array of global privacy issues, regulatory experiences, and enforcement challenges and shared their latest developments and insights. The 60th APPA Forum hosted by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, Sydney, Australia

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) hosted the 60th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) forum from 30 November to 1 December 2023. The forum was attended by 18 APPA members. A number of guests and observers were also in attendance from around the globe, including from data protection authorities and other international networks. During the two-day forum, members, observers and guests shared and discussed a variety of common privacy issues, regulatory experiences, and enforcement challenges. 59th APPA Forum hosted by the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection, Mexico (INAI Mexico)

The National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Personal Data Protection, Mexico (INAI) hosted the 59th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) forum from June 05-06, 2023. The forum was attended by 15 APPA members. A number of guests were also in attendance from around the globe, including other data protection authorities, and observers from industry, government, academia, and civil society. During the intensive two-day forum, members discussed common privacy issues, regulatory experiences, and enforcement challenges. 58th APPA Forum hosted by the Personal Data Protection Commission Singapore (PDPC Singapore)

The Personal Data Protection Commission Singapore (PDPC Singapore) hosted the 58th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) forum on 29 and 30 November 2022 in Singapore, with both in-person and virtual attendance. The forum was attended by 17 APPA members across the Asia-Pacific region. A number of observers were also in attendance from around the globe, including other data protection authorities and global forum, together with guests from the think tanks, industry, civil society and trade associations. Over the two days, APPA members, observers and guests shared and discussed on a wide array of global privacy issues, regulatory developments and enforcement experiences, and reconnected with one another for enhanced cooperation and collaborations. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong, China (PCPD) hosted the 57th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum virtually from July 12-13, 2022. The forum was attended by 19 APPA members from across the Asia Pacific region. Over the intensive two-day forum, members discussed a wide array of global privacy issues, regulatory experiences and enforcement challenges, particularly those arising from the use of emerging technologies, and shared their latest developments and insights, as well as introduced members’ latest publications and guidance materials. The 56th APPA Forum hosted by the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia

The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC-BC) hosted the 56th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) forum from November 30-December 2, 2021. The forum was attended by 18 APPA members. A number of guests were also in attendance from around the globe, including other data protection authorities, and observers from industry, government, academia, and civil society. Over three days, members discussed several common privacy issues and enforcement challenges, shared their knowledge and experience, and continued to build relationships with a view towards enhanced cooperation. The 55th APPA Forum hosted by the Personal Information Protection Commission of the Republic of Korea

The Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) of the Republic of Korea hosted the 55th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum on 16 to 18 June 2021. A wide range of issues were discussed at the Forum in response to a rapidly changing landscape where both data protection and safe use of data have become increasingly important in the digital economy, especially in the post Covid-19 recovery. 54th APPA Forum hosted by the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner, Australia

The Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner based in Melbourne, Australia hosted the 54th Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum from December 8-10. APPA’s second completely virtual forum focused on the privacy implications of the COVID-19 pandemic; facial recognition and artificial intelligence; as well as the future of privacy frameworks. 53rd APPA Forum hosted by Singapore

Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA), formed in 1992, is the principal forum for privacy and data protection authorities in the Asia Pacific region to form partnerships and exchange ideas about privacy regulation, new technologies and the management of privacy enquiries and complaints.  APPA membership includes representatives of 19 data protection authorities from the region. The Personal Data Protection Commissioner (PDPC) hosted a virtual meeting of the 53rd APPA Forum on 2 – 4 June 2020.

51st APPA Forum in Tokyo, Japan

The Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan (PPC Japan) hosted the 51st Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum on 29-30 May in Tokyo, Japan. Over the two days, APPA members and invited guests discussed global privacy trends, exchanged domestic experiences and sought opportunities for cooperation on education and enforcement activities across the Asia Pacific Region.
