Welcome to the Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) website. APPA is a forum for privacy authorities in the Asia Pacific region. It gives privacy authorities in the region an opportunity to form partnerships, discuss best practices and share information on emerging technology, trends and changes to privacy regulation.

On this website, you can find a number of privacy resources and information about APPA’s bi-annual forum, Privacy Awareness Week, and contact details for members.

53rd APPA Forum hosted by Singapore

The Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) of Singapore hosted the 53rd Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) Forum from 2-4 June. It was APPA’s first “virtual” forum, with all presentations made via video conferencing, as organizers and members adjusted to the circumstances brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Pressing privacy issues and regulators’ experiences from across the Asia-Pacific region related to COVID-19 were a dominant theme over the course of the forum.

For more information about the 53rd APPA Forum, including the issues that were discussed, see the Communiqué.
