Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities welcome new member Japan

Victoria, BC, Canada — The Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA) are pleased to welcome Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC) as a new member.

The Personal Information Protection Commission, Japan is the 19th privacy and data protection authority to join APPA. It will participate as a full member for the first time at the 45th APPA Forum in Singapore on 21-22 July 2016.

Formed in 1992, APPA is the principal forum for privacy and data protection authorities in the Asia Pacific region to form partnerships and exchange ideas about privacy regulation, new technologies and the management of privacy enquiries and complaints.
